Best known for the “Gion shidare-zakura” (weeping cherry tree). By day, the tree stands elegantly with light pink flowers setting off its long branches. When illuminated after dark, those same cherry blossoms stand out dramatically against the night sky, making for a sight by turns lovely and sublime.
