Historical Village and its many valuable construction materials It was not until the first half of the 1800s when a number of important monuments were moved to the Historical Village of Hokkaido, and the move was finally completed in the 1900s. This outdoor museum is considered a huge project. The Park is divided into four areas, including the street area, the village area, the rural area, and the fishing village area. The buildings are moved here from around the country and are monuments carefully preserved. Here, you get a glimpse of the developing period of Hokkaido and the daily life and views of the bygone days.

Important monuments line the Historical Village of Hokkaido. Everything from the streets to the buildings, as well as from house furnishings to the toys and daily life tools of the early periods displays faithfully the scenes of the developing era. The wagonway runs through the park and is still being used by carriages to date. The elegance of early Hokkaido is presented in front of the world today.
The history preserved in the snowy country
Throughout the hundreds of thousands of years, winter in Hokkaido stays constant with its eternally snowy view. Snow falls gently, settling on monuments and ancient towns. When the streets are frozen, it looks exactly the same as the scenery from thousands of years ago. As the streetscape of the early periods is meticulously restored in the Historical Village, when it snows, it feels as though we have traveled through time back to the snow scenes in ancient Japan.
